Shin Chin Industrial Co., Ltd. (SCI), founded in 1953, is a major maker of automotive electrical parts and accessories in Taiwan that is ISO 9001- and SIO/TS 16949-approved.
With constant investment in product diversification, SCI supplies wide-ranging switches, interior lamps, distributors and caps, indicator lights, fuse holders, LED lamps, lighter plugs and sockets, power adapters and accessories etc.
Mark Hong, son of the founder K.L. Hong, took over as president in 1998 to continue leading the company, which has seen steady growth, with the new president having effectively expanded production scale, market share, clientele by constantly upgrading R&D capability, conducting global market research, marketing and branding.
SCI operates two modern, integrated plants, one in Taiwan of over 9,000 square meters and another in China of 20,000 square meters that is to be expanded in the near future with a workforce of 1,250 people. Monthly capacity of the two plants totals 2.5 million car switches, 150,000 interior lamps, 250,000 power adapters, 50,000 distributor caps, 40,000 distributors, and one million fuse holders.
The firm says that 85% of products are made at its newly expanded factory in China, with the remaining 15% turned out in Taiwan. Aiming to be fully integrated to assure high product quality and reliability, SCI utilizes high-efficient, advanced automatic table presses, plastic injection molding machines with robotic arms, automatic tapping machines, print master automatic printers and others.
SCI says all production processes, from product design, development and tooling to production and packaging, meet stringent ISO 9001 and SIO/TS 16949 standards.
