Yih Guang Machine Pattern Maker Co., Ltd., established in 1975, is one of Taiwan’s largest manufacturers of high-quality wood patterns. In the beginning of its inception, the company focused on injection machine patterns. With years of development, the company has involved in the wind turbine field.
To meet the needs of the worldwide green energy sector, the company is now expanding a new production line with the cooperation of Suzlon of India, Gamesa of Spain, and Enercon. The company has supplied Suzlon with many series of turbine patterns, such as main foundations, hubs, girder systems, and planetary carriers. In the meantime, the company supplies swinging rings, gear boxes and some hubs to Gamesa and Enercon of the U.S. In addition, it also supplies valves and pump patterns to the Netherlands-based Flowserve.
Yih Guang boasts it is Taiwan’s only pattern shop focusing on the production of state-of-the-art wind turbine patterns. Its manufacturing skill has been upgraded because of the newly developed resin/FRP technique.
To meet the production of bigger patterns in the foreseeable future, Yih Guang has installed a giant gantry-type CNC machine with 8 x 8 x 2.5 meters in maximum die travel distance. After completing the production of 3.0 MW turbine patterns in the past two years, the company will develop 5.0 MW and above turbine patterns in the years to come.
The company uses ATOS tracking system which can easily show the slightest difference between given/requested 3D models and real items. This system is commonly used in aerospace industry for tracking shape changes and dimensions. Thanks to the employment of this sophisticated technique, the company can 100% ensure that energy dimension is under control and meet the tolerance request from customers. (BS)
